Mar 93 - July 96 University of East London
Employed to set up a new department called the Open Learning Unit which
later became known as Flute. Responsible for designing & specification of
building works and facilities within the new Learning Resource Centre at
Barking and the installation of production and post-production facilities.
Undertook various faculty-based project work including: New Technologies
Athene project for minority groups, Fashion videos on collars, plackets and
darts (commercially marketed), Science videos on Mitosis and the art of gene
cloning, Art & Design etching process video, Education mentoring video and
numerous others. Also undertook external, communities project work for
Barking & Dagenham Council and an independent UEL commissioned quality
audit video. The department pioneered the use of new technical equipment
and became one of the first clients within the UK to commission the EZ1
mini-DV Camcorder from Panasonic.

Responsible for the day-to-day crewing of Thames News, Mixing and Grams
Operating and employing freelance staff as required. Pioneering surround
sound for High Definition Television and NICAM stereo.
1981 - Jan 92 Studio Sound Supervisor
Responsible for supervising studio crews and sound requirements including
microphones, Fisher Booms, fold-back, communications, etc. Covered ENG
crew work and outside broadcasts
Jun 79 - 1981 Junior Sound Technician
Work at Thames covered studio, location and news work. Areas of work covered
News, Light Entertainment, Children's TV, Sport, Drama, Current Affairs and
Comedy. Major Programmes regularly worked included:
Thames News, This is Your Life, The City Programme, TV Eye, Help, Election
Specials, Afternoon Plus, Looks Familiar, Midweek Sports Special, Boxing, Winter
